Bilingual Health Access Facilitator

The Telluride Regional Medical Center is seeking to hire a Full-time Bilingual Health Access Facilitator

Under the general supervision of the Primary Care Medical Director, the Bilingual Health Access Facilitator [BHAF] will be responsible for supporting primarily, but not limited to, bilingual patients of TRMC needing a higher level of coordinated care. The BHAF will facilitate access to medical services and financial resources, both internally and externally, and lead patients through the process of identifying any barriers to healthcare at TRMC and provide education and a connection to resources and services available. The full set of responsibilities is to be performed in a confidential, professional, efficient, and culturally appropriate manner and adherent to the policies of TRMC.


Must be fluent in both English/Spanish

Certified Medical Interpreter, if not currently certified, can complete certification course within first 3 months of employment

Ability to effectively communicate, both in person and in writing with patients and staff from different cultural backgrounds

Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel)

Ability to become proficient in, and use electronic health record programs effectively

Outstanding organizational skills

Works with compassion, patience, and empathy

Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions

Formal education/training requirements include:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Maintain annual HIPAA compliance and Infection Control Training

This position is an hourly/non-exempt position. The salary range for this position is $23 - $25 per hour.
